Accessibility Statement

This accessibility statement applies to the CATQR website.

We want as many people as possible to be able to use our website. For example, that means you should be able to:

  • understand the purpose of links from added tags.
  • zoom in up to 500% without the text spilling off the screen.
  • navigate most of the website using just a keyboard.
  • navigate most of the application using speech recognition software.
  • listen to most of the application using a screen reader (including the most recent versions of JAWS, NVDA and VoiceOver).

We’ve also made the website text as simple as possible to understand.

AbilityNet has advice on making your device easier to use if you have a disability.

How accessible this website is

We know some parts of the website are not fully accessible i.e. do not meet Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) version 2.1 level AAA standard:

  • not all areas of the application currently meet AAA colour contrast (7:1) requirements.
  • there are a number of sentences that are longer than 80 characters.
  • autofocussing on various fields cannot be disabled by users, which may lead to change of context without user request.

CATQR branding and mobile app colour scheme has been developed in line with RNIB guidelines for Colour and Contrast for people with sight loss.

We have passed online accessibility tests with zero critical issues flagged. With the help of these WCAG assessment tools we’ve made the site more accessible by:

  • Tagging elements that behave like buttons as buttons, and explaining their use.
  • Labelling links to show their purposes.
  • Adding a ‘lang’ tag for screen readers to determine the site’s language.

Compliance status

Although we have passed online accessibility tests with zero critical issues flagged, this website is not compliant with WGAG version 2.1 level AA or 2.2 level AA standard.
